I went People watching the other day. Those who don’t know what i’m talking about, I enjoy going to the mall or Walmart, anywhere where there is a lot of people, and just sit and watch! It truly is amazing all the different people in the world. Big ones, small ones, happy ones, and sad ones. God has called us to love all of them!! It is very easy to get busy and just ignore the people around you. It is such a blessing to just encourage a stranger. The Lord says to Love others as yourself. Try today to make a difference in someones day just by showing you care.

John 13:34-35

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Go and Tell It!! 2/22

It seems that as the years have come and gone it has become harder For people to share the Good news!  It is almost as if Jesus has become an Unspoken. The world is trying to suck Jesus out of everything, And it is our Jobs as Believers to spread the word. The bible says to be strong in the Grace that is in Christ Jesus, and the things that you have heard me say entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. (2 Timothy) I feel a lot of believers don’t think they are qualified or adequate enough to talk about Jesus. Jesus wants us to have a relationship with him and to simply believe! So as you go about your day tell someone the good news!!

Matthew 28

The Great Commission

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

the Vine 2/21

Have you ever watched someone prune a tree? It’s pretty amazing how by the time they’re done there is not a lot left and the tree looks kind of puny. Wait a little while and the tree looks better then it ever did. We are like a tree and if you let him Jesus will prune you into the man/women of God he want you to be. Yes he might cut things off that your holding to, or it may hurt to deal with somethings. God wants to be our source of power. By us being the branches and God being the vine we are feeding off his power without him we will not bear much fruit. So the Question today is are you ready to be pruned?

John 15:5-8

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Faith 2/20

Do you have faith? Faith in your friends that they wont let you down? Faith in yourself that bills will get payed? Faith in your spouse that  you trust them to take care of you? How about  faith in Jesus? Jesus says that all we need is the faith of a tiny mustard seed! We try to put our faith in money and material things and some how we always get let down. Try putting your faith in something eternal. Time to step out of the boat. The Lord is with you.

2 Corinthians 5:6-7 So we  are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are  away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Seek a relationship 2/17

I know as a believer it is hard sometimes to feel like your making a differince. Life seems to go by so fast and it may seem spiritually that your stuck in the same place and your spinining your wheels. Focus on getting to know God. Pursue knowing him better through prayer, reading the Bible, being in fellowship and teaching with other Christians…all of that is good. But your faith is not to rest in your effort, but instead in God’s ability to work in your life. Jesus said it’s like grapes on a vine. Jesus is the main vine and he said we are like the branches. “Remain (or abide) in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”Jesus went on to say, “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” So as you go about the day stop trying to do things to make you a better believer, Just get to know him!

There are all kinds of tired. You can be physically tired. You can be mentally tired, You can be emotionally tired, or you can be a combination of all three. You can be dog tired, you can be sick and tired, you can even be tired to the bone. So today no matter what kind or combination of tired you are there is one who can give you rest. Sweet, peaceful rest.

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.”

True friends 2/15

Today it’s so easy to have surface level friendships. We hangout with them, watch movies, go out to eat but its easy to become very shallow. It might be your affraid that they will hurt you, or you know that what they might tell you is true but your running from it. But when you have a friend or friends around you that you feel comfortable to speak into your life it makes all the difference in the world. God puts people in our life for a reason. By having good friends to tell you when your doing something wrong or to encourage you when you are down it makes it alot easier to fallow the Lord. As you continue with your day be thankful for the people in your life.

Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

Proverbs 17:17
A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need

What is Love? 2/14

What is love? It has to be one of the hardest things to explain. Days have passed by, relationships have blossomed and so has love. But no one can give the proper definition of love. To some Love is friendship set on fire for others Maybe love is like luck. You have to go all the way to find it. No matter how you define it or feel it, love is the eternal truth in the history of mankind.  God says “ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” As you go about this Valentines day try and remember who loved you first.

Working for the Lord 2/13

•February 13, 2012 • 1 Comment

It is so easy to get caught up in the world and live a 9 to 5 lifestyle. Wake up and go to work and are in a calamitous till 5 then you go home and repeat the same thing tomorrow. Living for God has so much more to offer! We are called to live as “unto the Lord”. This means work as well! I know that work can be hard and you may feel like giving up sometimes, but try to see how you can glorify the Lord in it. Be it Fixing someones car, or making someones lunch, do it for the Lord. We are called to live as an audience of one. The only person we are trying to please is the Lord. So next time you have the blues at work or simply tired of it remember who you’re working for!  The King of Kings!!

Colossians 3:23-24

23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

What Goes around comes around 2/10

His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to eke out a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog. There, mired to his waist in black mulch, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.

The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved. "I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "You saved my son's life."

"No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer replied, waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of the family hovel. "Is that your son?" the nobleman asked. "Yes," the farmer replied proudly.

"I'll make you a deal. Let me take him and give him a good education. If the lad is anything like his father, he'll grow to a man you can be proud of."

And that he did. In time, Farmer Fleming's son graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of penicillin.

Years afterward, the nobleman's son was stricken with pneumonia. What saved him? Penicillin.

The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill. His son's name? Sir Winston Churchill.

Someone once said, "What goes around, comes around."
